This report summarizes the findings of the 2013 Gambia Demographic and Health Survey (GDHS) carried out by The Gambia Bureau of Statistics (GBOS). The survey was funded by the government of The Gambia, the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Global Fund. ICF International provided technical assistance through its MEASURE DHS program, which is designed to collect data on fertility, family planning, maternal and child health, maternal mortality, and domestic violence.
